Mid Autumn Festival

The apples of Paul Taipei might actually come from France:-P
A french friend once told me that he did not consider the apples in Taiwan real apples because they are always too sweet. The apple pies that please you have to be made with very ripe apples of sour flavor. Moreover, there are more varieties of apples in France than in Taiwan as for choices for desserts. Can we consider the globalization a good thing while the carbon dioxygen iincreases?

Why use English all of a sudden? (Of course, I wouldn't have understood it if it were in French.)
I remember a friend from Germany once said that there were over 400 varieties of apple in Germany, rather proudly. I was amazed by the number at that time, but now thinking back, I guess it's just natural, since basically apples are temperate plants and people have been grown them there for ages.
However, do you share the memory that, when we were school kids, we had been told that how amazing we could grow big, beautiful apples – those temperate plants – out there in Li Shan (Pear Mountain)? And I also have the fresh memory that when I found Fuji apples here, its lovely smell immediately beat all other apples (in my subjective mind).
I guess people have their own reasons to be proud of their local fruit/food/culture.
Nowadays, while Fuji apples are seen more frequently here, most of them actually come from China.
It's all about market. All about cost and benefit.
I don't know whether we can consider globalization's positive side (say, more people are getting to appreciate different cultures in far away places) overweight its negative side (far too many to mention...)
I just think our planet is a mess. And we are all in it.
